Digital Media Integration Programme Manager (12-month fixed-term contract) - Vauxhall, London

Closing Date: 29/08/2008
Reference: 2414
Salary: Circa 35-40k pa plus benefits

Macmillan Cancer Support recently merged with the specialist cancer information charity, Cancerbackup. Both Macmillan and Cancerbackup are dedicated to supporting people affected by cancer. Macmillan develops and provides a wide range of medical, practical, emotional and financial services, including the distribution of information. Cancerbackup is recognised as the UK's leading source of high-quality information on every cancer.

Our vision is for all people affected by cancer to have the information they want, when they want it, in the format they need it. The merger will enable Cancerbackup's existing services to be expanded and enhanced as they join with Macmillan's full range of services.

Among the existing services are two excellent websites. Integration of these will ensure we can offer the best of Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancerbackup's existing and planned online services and meets the needs of people living with cancer, their carers and families, as well as our supporters, campaigners, fundraisers and donors.

The integration will be complex and we need a first-rate project manager who has bucket loads of experience and the determination to deliver a fully integrated online service within 12 months.

As well as proven project management experience, you will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the web and know how to manage a web project using human-centred design methodologies.

If you are successful, you will be responsible for managing the integration of all Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancerbackup websites, including planning, analysis and delivery of the overall solution within 1 year (September 2009). Reporting to the Head of Digital Media, you will also be forming and leading a project team of key stakeholders from across Macmillan who will be helping you to scope and plan the project.

The post is a 12-month fixed-term contract to start as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, please call or email Katie Smith, Head of Digital Media, on 020 7840 7812, katiesmith@macmillan.org.uk.
