Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull
Each year over 5000 people from our area are diagnosed with cancer. You can help us to support these people.
These are just some of the posts we have recently funded thanks to the generosity and support of local people:
-
a Macmillan consultant breast surgeon
-
a Macmillan consultant in oncology
-
the first Macmillan bone marrow transplant co-ordinator in the country
-
a paediatric therapeutic radiographer
The Black Country
It is only thanks to the generosity of our supporters in the Black Country that we have been able to fund the many Macmillan services and health professionals that are available to local people today. But we still need your support to help improve the quality of care for people living with cancer, their families and carers.
Macmillan works with the NHS and other health and social care partners in your area to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
The Macmillan appeals in the Black Country are raising money for:
-
a Macmillan physiotherapist, based at Russell's Hall Hospital
-
two Macmillan community nurses, including a team leader in palliative care. Palliative care concentrates on the quality of life of the patient and that of their family
-
a Macmillan hospital support nurse, based at Walsall Manor Hospital
