If your area is not covered by one of these services, other services are available to you. We run numerous information centres throughout the UK, which can help you with financial matters following a referral by your GP, a Macmillan Nurse or a medical specialist. The Administrator receives and processes all referrals, and arranges home visits and outreach clinic appointments with clients. The Welfare Advice Team are based in Altnagelvin Hospital and provide information and specialist advice on social security issues, benefits, housing and debt management to cancer patients and their families within the Western Health and Social Care Trust. Providing financial information and advice for cancer patients, their families and their carers. If required, advisers can visit clients at home to complete welfare benefit claim forms and make applications to appropriate funds. Advisers are also willing to carry out follow-up work that is required following the submission of applications for Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance.

Our service is for anyone living in West Lothian affected by cancer including family and carers. We aim to provide a holistic approach to advice and will not only look at income maximisation through benefits available, but will assist in accessing other services available in West Lothian, including Occupational Therapy, Home Safety Service, travel concessions, money, energy and housing advice. We are able to offer a home visiting service.
