Travel arrangements

All the travel elements of the event, including all flights and ground arrangements, are organised for Macmillan by Discover Adventure Limited, ATOL number 5636, and will be covered by Discover Adventure Limited's ATOL bond. Of your £295 registration fee, £100 will be paid to Discover Adventure Limited by Macmillan in respect of your travel arrangements approximately 5 months before the trip. The full cost of the travel arrangements is approximately £1,438; you will be notified of the exact cost Macmillan will be paying on your behalf at a later date. The final payment for your travel arrangements will be taken from your sponsorship money. The remainder of the sponsorship raised (at least 64% of the £3,200 minimum) will be treated as a donation to the charity. If you raise over £3,200 100% of the surplus will benefit Macmillan. Macmillan will issue participants with an ATOL receipt for the travel element of participants' registration fee. Participants will be issued with a confirmation invoice by Discover Adventure Limited for this sum, which will be forwarded to participants by Macmillan, and a final confirmation invoice will be issued by Discover Adventure Limited for each participant once payment for all travel arrangements has been made by Macmillan.

Adventure travel - essential facts

Every reasonable effort is made by Discover Adventure Ltd, the organisers of the challenge, to ensure that the challenge is as safe as possible for all participants. However, you should be aware that adventure travel is potentially hazardous because of the relative remoteness of the location, the high altitude, the weather conditions and the limited and basic facilities available. The challenge can be very physically demanding. In the event of your being injured or becoming ill whilst on the challenge, medical facilities may not be immediately available and are unlikely to be of UK standard. This is an adventurous and challenging bike ride. The bike ride is conceived and operated by Discover Adventure Ltd.
